Training and Consultation

We provide bespoke training and consultation to teams working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking or refugee children.

Topics may include the mental health and psychosocial needs of UAM, different models of engagement and applying trauma and evidence-informed understanding , the interplay between the asylum process and mental health, and working-cross culturally.

Our service model enables us to offer this free of charge.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Dr Ellen Westwood, Clinical Psychologist

‘I work as a Clinical Psychologist in a Local Authority, Leaving Care Team who support many unaccompanied minors (UAM), I came across Foundation 63 and was really intrigued by their charity. It was quick and easy to get in touch with Foundation63, they were very responsive in setting up a meeting to discuss how services can support UAM. Glorianne and Dot were very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic sharing many *free* resources and helpful guidelines relevant to UAM. They offered practical information about evidence based interventions for UAM which inspired me to think about how the service I work in can be creative and develop the support given to young people, they also shared information about groups they’ve run and their content/structure. I’d definitely recommend any clinician/professional/person working with UAM to consult with foundation 63, I walked away from our meeting feeling very encouraged and excited to develop the service I am currently working within. ‘
